TBO Sisterhood provides support to a variety of organizations that help families locally, nationally and internationally. Sisterhood is supported financially through sources including dues, our Judaica Gift Shop, fundraising and donations.
In addition to the programming listed in our newsletters, Sisterhood services include but are not limited to:
For our congregation
• Preparing and delivering meals for congregants who are ill or home-bound
• Providing financial support for the Ritual Team’s Libraries, TBO’s Religious School and the Temple’s facilities
• Staffing and managing of the TBO Judaica Gift Shop
• Staying in touch with and sending care packages throughout the year to our college students so that they feel connected to our community through our College Connection Committee.
• Providing support for and supervision of Onegs and Shiva Minyans.
For our community
• Collecting donations for community organizations such as Jewish Family Services, Healing Transitions, and Oak City Cares
